    1. How does technology make the world better?

Technology is used to create a better world because it powers and lets us use a lot of the things we need. Technology is used for transportation, which are cars, busses, trucks and more. Technology is also fire. We need fire to cook things and to stay warm. Furthermore, it also allows us to take photos. The cameras in our phones are like mini computers.

    (3) Great introduction Andyann. Great examples of modern (transportation) and ancient technology (fire). I’m looking forward to seeing your second paragraph which develops these ideas and your concluding paragraph. Now try creating a blog posting and adding a photo. Best. Mr. Jump

These are some examples of how technology has negatively affected the Amazon Rainforest. Technology has negatively affected the Amazon Rainforest because some people wants to cut down trees to make room to grow crops or create pastures for cattle. Some people wants to mine for gold and some people wants to search for oil. On top of that, the governments of Brazil and Peru want to build hydroelectric dams in the Amazon Basin. While the dams would produce needed electricity for the countries, they would also flood areas, change the character of the Amazon River in some regions and affect the lives of people who live there. PLEASE DON’T CUT AND PASTE WORDS FROM OTHER PEOPLE INTO YOUR ESSAY

These are some examples of how technology has positively affected the Amazon Rainforest. Technology has positively affected the Amazon Rainforest because along time ago native americans needed to survive so they did take a little part of the rainforest for equipment to cook, hunt for food, defend themselves and family. Like for an example, that person is using a arrow made from technology. She or he is using the arrow to hunt for an animal like the fish.

Therefore these are some examples of how technology has negatively affected the Amazon Rainforest and how technology has positively affected the Amazon Rainforest.

    4) Noshaabah – You made intelligent and informed comments regarding the Amazon rainforest and how technology has made both negative and positive impacts on this tremendously valuable ecosystem. How could Internet technology be used to help foster awareness of the rainforest’s preservation? Mr. Jump

How Does Technology Affect the Amazon River and Rainforest in a Positive and Negitave Way? by Furqan Khan 5-305

The Amazon River and rainforest are big bodies of Earth. It is important to not harm the rivers and rain forest. Would you like to know how technology affects the Amazon River and Rainforest in a negative and positive way? Don’t answer because I will tell you anyway.

The Amazon River and rainforest are positively affected from technology. It affects the river and rainforest positively because with technology because the animals could be better protected. For instance, if there was a fire or anything like that you can use a fire extinguisher. Also you can make the population of the rainforest grow. You can convince people from all around the world to help gain more animals for the rainforest. That will make people force others not to cut down trees or burn rainforests. For the rivers you can’t really use technology to affect it in a positive way. You can only affect it in a negative way. I will show you how in the next paragraph.

The Amazon River and rainforest are negatively affected from technology. It affects the river and rainforest negatively because some technology harms the forests and rivers. People can use firelighters that are made from technology and by the time you know it most of the forest will be burned up. The rivers can be affected negatively too. The rivers are affected negatively because an explosion from gas tanks which again are made from technology makes oil leaks. The leaks go into the rivers and affect many animals. Some dies. Some barely survive. This did happen to the Amazon river if you are wondering.

In conclusion, the amazon rain forest is affected positively because imagine there was a fire. You can use a fire extinguisher to take out the fire. You can also go online and get people to agree to force people who believe in burning and chopping the rainforests to stop because it’s getting pretty annoying and way to harmful!! The Amazon river is not affected by technology positively. The Amazon rainforest is affected negatively because people use firelighters to burn the rainforests. The Amazon river is affected by technology negatively because the gas tank explosions go in the river. I hope you know now how the Amazon rainforest and river is affected positively and negatively.

    4) Thank you Furqan for your thoughtful and insightful look at how technology both positively and negatively affects the rainforest. I also enjoyed your PowerPoint presentation. You are the first to turn one in (even before I assigned one!) I will use it as my model for the class. Best, Mr. Jump

    Courtney Bentham 5-305

Negative: Brazil had the biggest deforestation rate in the world. Since 1970, over 600,000 square kilometers (230,000 sq. mi.) of the Amazon was destroyed. In 2012, the Amazon was almost 5.4 million square kilometers, which is only 87% of the Amazon’s original state. The rate in the last ten years, the Amazon will be reduced 40% by 2030.
Positive: The positive effect people get for destroying the rain forest is that people have the wood they need for barns and farms. They can also make wooden furniture. Farmers can either plant tree saplings back into the forest or make a tree farm. Farmers cannot make pencils because they do not have led for the pencils. They can also make shelter and products to survive.
Conclusion: In conclusion, there are both negative and positive ways when destroying the Amazon rain forest. If someone were to plant trees back in the Amazon which I don’t think a whole lot of people have, that person should be known. The Amazon is going to die eventually, then we would have a lot less oxygen.

    4) Courtney- you make some interesting points about using the resources of the rainforest as a positive effect although, are these resources renewable? Do we take more from the rainforest than it can produce? These are things of which we need to be mindful. Mr. Jump

Technology can harm an enormous amount of wild life, such as the wildlife from the Amazon Rainforest. For an example, in the Amazon Rainforest have phone towers, which take a lot of electricity through wires. If some animals go near these wires they might get hurt badly. Furthermore, because of some technology there can be oil spills which could lead to major problems. There could be many animals dead and hurt badly.
Technology can also positively affect the Amazon Rainforest because suppose there is a fire in the Amazon Rainforest a fire extinguisher to put out the fire. Another reason is that suppose there is an oil spill technology can be used to clean the oil of the animals. Well technology can affect the Amazon Rainforest in positive ways and negative ways.

    (4) Great comment. You used very detailed and specific examples of how technology can either harm or help the Amazon. I noticed that your comments were very similar to Furqan’s. He is a great role model for writing. Perhaps you can include some other ideas that are your own. You paraphrased his ideas very well I must say. Next, create your own blog posting! Mr. Jump

HOW DOES TECHNOLOGY AFFECT THE AMZAN RAINFOREST?

Technology affects the rainforest in many ways. Technology affects the amazon rainforest in negative an positive ways.Technology hurts and helps the amazon rainforest. The Amazon rainforest is one of the worlds greatest rain forest in the world. Each tree in the Amazon rainforest gives about 20% oxygen. That’s why it is important for us to protect the Amazon rainforest. the Amazon rain forest gives South America: Brazil, Peru, Colombia,Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela, Guyana,Suriname and French Guiana half the oxygen they breath.

Technology has some Negative effects the Amazon rainforest. For example , for technology to prevail we have to cut down trees. Many of our trees are not there because of technology. Technology is taking away our oxygen. What I mean by oxygen is trees. Technology also has many positive affects.Such as if technology did not exist then we would not have solar power. If there was no solar power all of us would use heaters and you have to pay bills. In order to pay you need money so the trees have to be cut for money.

In conclusion, technology has positive and negative ways it affects the Amazon. So basically its trading trees give us money and technology gives solar power. These were only 2 of the positive and negative ways of technology. There are many other ways these are just a few.

    (3) Looking forward to your blog posting that I’m sure will include THREE ways, either positive or negative that technology has affected the Amazon. Mr.Jump

How has technology affected the Amazon Rainforest?

Technology has affected the Amazon Rainforest in many ways. Some in negative ways some in positively. Here are some reasons why.
The Rain forest is an important part of the earth. it even has most of earths water. So why would people treat it so bad? Well one reason is because of technology. Technology can effect technology badly because the government us trying to build dams that can give energy to places in South America. Although that is a good thing it is also bad.It is bad because the dams can flood out the rain forest Another reason is because people want to cut down its trees.Doing that will take away the homes of the animal that live there. Those are some ways the rain forest can be affected negatively.

Technology can affect the rain forest positively.one way is because the dams send energy to places in South America. That include the amazon rain forest. That energy can be very helpful to the amazon rain forest. A way you could help is by writing a letter to congress. Get more people to help you take a stand against the government to tell them to stop hurting the animal . Also for them to stop taking homes from the idigenous people.

In conclusion these are ways technology affected the Amazon Rainforest negatively and positively.

    (4) Kearah- Outstanding introduction, developing paragraph and conclusion! I love how you included ways people can help by writing letters to Congress. You also show specific ways that dams positively and negatively affect the rainforest. Now create a blog posting after you have done your final draft that includes using the spell check tool. How Has Technology Affected The Amazon Rainforest?

Technology has positively and negatively affected the Amazon river rainforest. Here are some positive ways. Now there are solar panels to heat the houses so they do not have to pay money.Because now they do not have to cut down trees for paper for the money.Another is that they are using chainsaws to cut down trees for the cattles and pastures. They are cutting down trees but it is for a good cause. Lastly, people use tractors to mine for gold so that it’s possible to make solar panels, chainsaws and tractors. That is how technology has positively affected the Amazon rainforest.

Here are some negative ways technology has affected the Amazon river rainforest. Now that their homes are cut down, the indigenous people have no place to live. Also,as they are cutting down trees,it is effecting us.The rainforest produces about twenty percent of Earth’s oxygen, and we need it.The third reason is that conflicts over oil exploration, mining, dams and cutting down trees in the rainforest are increasing in the news in South America.

There are many actions we can take to help the Amazon. When we cut down a tree,we can plant another one in it’s place. Also, instead of oil conflicts, why not just use some natural resources in the forest.Instead of cutting down atree to make afire or something, they could use branches that have already fell off.

In conclusion, without the forest we could not survive. The forest should be treated like it is our home. Some things are good for the forest, however, some are not.The forest is our beauty and we are the forest’s beauty.

    (4) Wonderful and convincing essay. You have given specific ways technology has negatively and positively affected the Amazon. Your conclusion is strong. Now create a blog posting with your final draft. Best, Mr. Jump

Did you know technology effects the Amazon rainforest in many positive and negative ways ? well today in this piece of writing I will be telling you three positive and negative ways.

Negative: farmers want to cut the Amazon rainforest trees down to get more crop Space . People cut down the amount of trees to equal 60 football fields each day . The Amazon will most likely be reduced 40 percent by 2030. Positive: when ever farmers cut down trees they can replant trees . Also farmers can take a separate piece of land and make a tree farm connecting to the forest to start replanting the Amazon rainforest .Also people should stop hunting animals just for their skin.
In conclusion, the Amazon Rainforest will be more than half way destroyed.

    (3) Great start to an essay. I love how you included ways we can make our use of the rainforest more sustainable by replanting. What are other ways technology affects the rainforest negatively? Rewrite your essay and incorporate your POSITIVE: and NEGATIVE: subtitles in the text. Then create a blog posting. Best, Mr. Jump

HOW DOES TECHNOLOGY NEGATIVELY AND POSITIVELY AFFECT THE AMAZON?

Technology has had a great impact on today’s society. Nowadays, you don’t ever see anyone outside without a phone or at home without some sort of technological device such as a computer or a laptop. But, that doesn’t always mean that its effects are positive. Technology has both positively and negatively affected the Amazon. It has provided a way for us to find out more about the Amazon so that we can conserve/save it, however it has also led to the spread of increasing pollution and so the many millions of plants there can die because of this.
The Amazon is positively affected by technology because then many people all over the Internet can read about it and find out that if there is any problem, you can donate to the funding and conservation of the Amazon Rainforest. The Amazon is positively affected by technology because people can also read about it and do something else like try to save/help/preserve it by actually telling people, this can hurt us, if it hurts the rainforest. When I said it can hurt us, and the rainforest, I meant that if the rainforest has no trees left, it means no oxygen. NO trees, NO oxygen. The Amazon Rainforest has negatively was affected by tech was by burning or cutting stuff down. It was affected negatively by cutting down because while cutting down a lot of trees people need machines. Machines are a part of tech. Some machines from tech don’t help much. Technology can also affect the Amazon negatively by burning down shelters that animals live in and burning down their needs.
In conclusion, technology negatively has a really bad effect on the Amazon. But positively it has a better effect on the Amazon Rainforest. As you can see, these are two of the many ways that technology has both negatively and positively affected the Amazon.
    Rabia Asif 5-305

    (4) Well written and planned Rabia! I love how you introduce your essay by drawing attention to how technology is part of our everyday lives such as hand held wireless devices. I’m looking forward to your blog posting. Best. Mr. Jump

The amazon rain forest is huge. The amazon rain forest is often called the Earths lungs. The amazon rain forest is the world’s largest rain forest. It gives out 20% of the Earth’s oxygen. The amazon rain forest spreads across 9 different countries on South America. Those countries are Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. It has 1.4 billion acres. Those acres spread out on either side of the amazon river.

The whole amazon rain forest is endangered. People are trying to fell(chop down) all the trees in it. They are also trying to harm or hunt down the animals who live in the amzon rainforest.

    (2) Who is this. You must identify yourself and your class. In your rewrite, try to include more examples of both positive and negative effects of technology on the rainforest and create a blog posting with your title, name and class. Mr. Jump

They often call this land Earth’s lungs. It is no ordinary place. It has
The Earth’s most amount of important oxygen. Technology is
destroying it. These are the most obvious examples ones I know.
    • Since it’s so big and popular, mostly people from South America
are hunting wildlife for food while others cut down trees not realizing the amount of oxygen is decreasing
    • Brazil and Peru will build a dam in the Amazon Rainforest
    for better service of electricity.
    • In this dam they’ll flood areas by putting some changes

    Positive
Technology also helped the Amazon Rainforest. It helped in
A lot of ways. I’ll discuss those with you today.

    • The natives that lives there live without contact
    • On April 22 some individuals will look for better things to improve the rain forest
    • By using technology the individuals can use mobile phones to help each other
In conclusion Amazon Rainforest should be protected all the time since it’s the earth’s lungs.

    (3) Great start Shafayet! I love how you use bullet points to list your examples of both positive and negative affects of technology on the rainforest. This is a great brainstorming technique when creating a first draft. Now try incorporating these ideas into well-written paragraphs and post it as a blog posting. Best, Mr. Jump

Technology could positively and negatively affect the Amazon rain forest? There are several ways how. Now I will tell you how.

Technology could positively affect the rain forest because the trees produce about 20% of oxygen and people need oxygen to survive. Also,if there is a fire in the rain forest the fire extinguisher could blow the fire away. Lastly, technology could persuade people to stop cutting down trees in the Amazon Rain Forest.

Furthermore, technology could negatively affect the Amazon Rain Forest because in the rain forest there are phone towers and the phone tower have wires,so if any animal go near the wire they could die. Also, cutting trees for planting crops could damage the rain forest. Finally, building dams could destroy the rain forest

There are many ways to save the rain forest.one way is that you could stop cutting down trees. Also, you could stop building things in the rain forest that contains electricity or wires.Lastly, you could stop building dams.

    (3) Very well presented! You give specific ways technology has negatively affected the Amazon. You also suggest stopping the destructive ways of progress. Try to give examples of how you could persuade people to stop cutting down trees. Also, if dams aren’t built for hydro-electric purposes, what are other ways we can generate electricity? How Has Technology Effected Rain Forests?

    Negative Ways

Technology has effected rain forests with destruction. It has burned down rain forests to
created facility’s and other things such as mines and other resources that the rain forest
has . By destroying the rain forest Technology also destroyed animals homes. Animals without shelter will die with out no protection or disguise. They will die because of hunters and or other dangerous creatures. Also by having the animals die they could go close to extinction or maybe just go extinct .This is how Technology has effected rain forests allover the world .

    Positive Ways

Technology has effected rain forests positively with peace .It has given rain forest firemen so when there is a forest fire the fire men put it out to save the rain forests.
Also technology created a hose that water comes out of. That’s what firemen use
to put out all types of fires except chemical fires. Another way technology has
affected rainforests positively is people and security. They protect rainforests by
keeping people away when they are smoking ,and or lighting a match .This is the
positive way technology has affected rainforests.

    Conclusion

In conclusion ,I think even though that Amazon rainforest is being destroyed and people
are replanting trees its going take a lot of time and some people don’t have .But then again there is a lot of people so eventually it will get done .This is my conclusion and
informative article on how technology has positive ways and negative ways that tells
how technology affected rain forests like the Amazon rainforests.
