Guatemala Has Mad Volcanoes – by Mr. Jump with 2-110

The 20 tallest volcanos of Guatemala (13471 bytes)

Click here to read more about the 20 tallest volcanoes of Guatemala measured in meters.

How many volcanoes are there in Guatemala? There have been hundreds of volcanoes over the millennia in Guatemala but only 35 are now active volcanoes.

More information about Guatemala's volcanoes.

Most active volcanoes in Guatemala occur in belts produced by the subduction of the Pacific Ocean floor under the North American plate. If you rub your hands together fast you feel heat from the friction. Imagine how hot rock gets when rubbing again other rock deep in the Earth.
